Commission Process

Whilst many collectors are interested in commissioning a custom work of art; most are unsure how the process will unfold and if it’s the right fit for them. Commission artworks are suitable for those wishing to customise an artwork’s colour and scale to suit a site-specific space. Or incorporate a meaningful story, theme or environment into the inspiration of the artwork. You will work closely with Hannah Nowlan to create an in-depth brief to ensure you resonate with the finished artwork on a personal level.

Hannah’s artworks lend themselves beautifully to commission orders. All her artworks are deeply embedded with allegoric symbols of landscape, person, memory, myth or story. Commissions become so special, site-specific and personal to the client involved as each meaningful element is interwoven into the visual dialogue of the painting through symbolic representations.

Our commission process consists of four key stages;

Initial consultation, questionnaire review and approval.
Review of composition sketch and colour palette before painting.
Painting commences with optional progress images shared along the way.
Upon completion, the artwork is framed, photographed and delivered.

It is part of Hannah Nowlan’s artistic process that all her original artworks remain unique and one of a kind. We recommend clients resonate with three or more of Hannah’s previous artworks before embarking on a commission journey.
